How to Reach Chengdu

By Plane

There are two international airport in Chengdu. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (IATA：CTU，ICAO：ZUUU) and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (IATA:TFU, ICAO:ZUTF). Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has a convenient route network to Europe, the United States, Africa, Asia and Oceania. By May 31, 2020, 363 air routes had been opened, including 128 international (regional) routes, 217 domestic routes, and 18 international routes after domestic stops. Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, it is 50 kilometers to the north of chengdu city center, 50 kilometers to the northwest of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, and about 14.5 kilometers to the northeast of Jianyang city center. It is a 4F international airport, international aviation hub, one of the highest grade airports in the Silk Road Economic belt, and the main hub of Chengdu International Aviation Hub.

By Train

The main railway station of Chengdu is called Chengdu East Railway Station, Chengdu South Railway Station, Chengdu West Railway Station. There are excellent high-speed rail connections with all major China cities.

By Bus

Most of the buses in Chengdu are unmanned ticket air-conditioned buses, with a one-way pass of 2 yuan per person; A few bus lines from the main city to suburban counties for someone to sell the bus ticket, the ticket price is mostly 2 yuan/person ~3 yuan/person. Run all the way in the central city bus and part of the city center can be used for good via "tianfu" bus IC card, the entire number can be brushed in center city buses running and electronic wallet, brush the number 5 discount, and free transfer three times within 2 hours, but the electronic wallet only 9 discount, and do not enjoy free transfer policy.

Travelling Around Chengdu

There is no doubt that the top thing to do in Chengdu is to visit a panda sanctuary to view the cute pandas. The Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is the one of the best places to see pandas in Chengdu. There are a lot of pandas in the base. You can watch these cute national treasures at close range in all stages of growth from babies to adults. Besides the Base in Chengdu, the Dujiangyan Panda Base is also a good choice. You can even have an opportunity to be a volunteer there to have a closer experience with pandas, which is really one of unusual things to do in Chengdu.

The best time to visit a panda base is before 10:00 am, since that's their active time. And remember, do not use a photographic flash or feed animals casually.

Other sites recommended: Dujiangyan and Mount Qingcheng / Jinli Ancient Street /Wide and Narrow Alley

Beat Traval Time: 3-5 days. The scenic spots in Chengdu are relatively concentrated, and hot food, drink and play can be eliminated in 1-2 days. Jinsha Site Museum and Chengdu Giant panda base are a little far away from the center of Chengdu, so they need to arrange half a day to play. In addition, due to the fast train, you can get to Dujiangyan and Qingchengshan in 30 minutes. Most tourists will also visit these two places in series for 1-2 days.

Famous Scenic Spots in Chengdu

1. Mount Qingcheng

Mount Qingcheng is one of the birthplaces of Taoism in China and one of the famous mountains of Taoism. It is located in the southwest of Dujiangyan City, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It is called "the Mountain of Dujiangren" in ancient times. It is 68 kilometers away from Chengdu in the east and 10 kilometers southwest of Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project. The main peak, Lao Xiao Summit, is 1,600 meters above sea level. Among the famous mountains in Sichuan, it is famous with Jianmen's danger, the beauty of Emei and the male of Kui, and has the reputation of "Qingcheng World quiet". Qingcheng Mountain is a famous Chinese historical mountain and national key scenic area, and in 2000, it was included in the World Heritage List together with Dujiangyan as a World cultural Heritage.

2. Dujiangyan Irrigation Project

The Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, built in the Qin Dynasty (221 - 207 BC), is the most complete ancient water conservancy project in China. For more than two thousand years, it has been playing an important role in flood control and irrigation. Today, you can see three main spectacular projects and the beautiful landscape all around.

3. Wide and narrow alleys

Wide and narrow alleys is located near Changshun Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu City. It is composed of wide alley, narrow alley and well alley arranged in parallel, all of which are ancient courtyard houses with Qingdai tiles. It is also a relatively large Qing Dynasty ancient street left over from Chengdu, and together with Daci Temple and Wenshu Courtyard, it is known as the three protected blocks of Chengdu's historical and cultural cities.

4. Wuhou Temple

Chengdu Wuhou Temple, located in the south gate of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, Wuhou Temple, is the only king and minister temple in China, composed of Wuhou Temple, Han Zhaoliet Temple and Huiling, people are accustomed to the three collectively referred to as Wuhou Temple. The main structure of the existing temple except Huiling was rebuilt in 1672 during the reign of Kangxi. Chengdu Wuhou Temple Museum was established in 1984, and was named the first national first-class museum in 2008.
